Description
Key Features
1. Hardware Specifications
- Interface: PCI-Express x1 (v2.0 or later)
- Ports: 2× RJ45 (10/100/1000 Mbps auto-negotiation)
- Chipset: Yokogawa-proprietary ASIC for Vnet/IP protocol
- Style: S1 (hardware revision for legacy compatibility)
- Part Marking: AS-S9881DJ-01 (manufacturing code)
2. Communication & Performance
- Protocols:
- Vnet/IP (Yokogawa’s real-time Ethernet, ≤1 ms cycle time)
- Standard TCP/IP (for non-real-time traffic)
- Deterministic Latency: <100 µs (Vnet/IP mode)
- Jumbo Frames: Supports up to 9KB MTU for throughput optimization
3. Compatibility
- Systems:
- CENTUM VP (R4.x to R6.x)
- ProSafe-RS (safety systems)
- OS Support:
- Windows 7/10 (32/64-bit, with Yokogawa drivers)
- Yokogawa HIS (Human Interface Station)
4. Redundancy & Diagnostics
- Dual-Port Failover: Automatic switchover if primary link fails
- LED Indicators: Link/Activity (per port) + system status
- Hot-Swappable: Driver supports hot-plug in supported OS
Installation & Configuration
1. Hardware Setup
- Insert into PCIe x1 slot (x4/x8 slots supported at x1 speed).
- Connect ports to Vnet/IP switches (e.g., YSW-1100) via CAT6 cables.
2. Software Setup
- Install Yokogawa Vnet/IP drivers (from CENTUM VP media).
- Configure in CENTUM VP Engineering Studio:
- Assign Vnet/IP addresses (e.g., 172.16.x.x).
- Enable QoS tagging for real-time traffic.
3. Network Best Practices
- Segmentation: Isolate Vnet/IP traffic via VLANs.
- Cabling: Use shielded twisted-pair (STP) for EMI immunity.
Part Number Breakdown
| Segment | Description |
|---|---|
| VF702 | Dual-port PCIe Vnet/IP card |
| -S1 | Style 1 (legacy hardware revision) |
| AS-S9881DJ-01 | Yokogawa internal assembly code |
Note:
- For newer systems, Yokogawa may recommend VF711 (PCIe x4, 10Gbps).
- Style S1 may lack features in newer revisions (e.g., SR-IOV support).
Troubleshooting
- No Link: Verify driver installation and switch port settings.
- Latency Spikes: Check for network congestion or faulty cables.
- Legacy OS Issues: Windows 10 requires signed drivers.
